Lodi Mixed Dahlia Seeds – A Stunning and Unique Addition to Your Garden

Bring a burst of color to your garden with Lodi Mixed Dahlia Seeds, a stunning blend of single and semi-double blooms in a range of hues from lemon yellow, apricot orange, and light pink to deep mulberry and rich red. Unlike tubers or cuttings, dahlias grown from seed offer endless possibilities, allowing you to discover brand-new flower shapes, sizes, and colors. If you find a favorite, you can dig, save, and even name your own unique dahlia variety!

Why Grow Lodi Mixed Dahlias?

  • Vibrant Variety: A mix of different sizes, colors, and flower forms for a diverse and eye-catching display.
  • Easy to Grow: Suitable for gardeners of all levels, these dahlias thrive in full sun with proper drainage.
  • Long-Lasting Blooms: Expect gorgeous late summer flowers when started from seed, perfect for bouquets or garden beds.
  • Edible & Versatile: Both dahlia petals and tubers are edible—use the petals to garnish salads and desserts, or enjoy the tubers raw or cooked like root vegetables.
  • Save Your Own Seed: Each plant produces one-of-a-kind seeds, so you can collect and grow new unique dahlias every season.

Planting Instructions

  • Start Indoors: Sow seeds April 1 – May 1, ¼" deep in warm soil (65-70°F).
  • Transplant Outdoors: Move seedlings to the garden May 20 – June 5 into well-drained soil or raised beds. Space plants 8-12 inches apart.
  • Sun & Soil: Dahlias thrive in full sun and need nutrient-rich, compost-enriched soil.
  • Support Growth: Apply Sluggo to protect young plants from slugs/snails and stake before they get too large.

Harvesting & Saving Dahlias

  • Cut Flowers: Harvest blooms when they are almost fully open for a vase life of about 5 days.
  • Digging & Storing Tubers: After frost, cut back stems and dig up tubers to store in peat moss or vermiculite at 40-50°F for replanting next season.
  • Saving Seeds: Collect seed pods in fall to grow brand-new, never-before-seen dahlia varieties!

With Lodi Mixed Dahlia Seeds, you'll enjoy an ever-changing display of colors and forms while growing one of the most unique, edible, and easy-to-save flowers in your garden!
