Muskogee Crape Myrtle Tree – Longest Blooming Lavender Flowers
If you’re looking to add vibrant, long-lasting color to your landscape, the Muskogee Crape Myrtle delivers in a big way. Known for having one of the longest bloom times of all crape myrtles, this variety bursts into life with light lavender flower clusters from early summer all the way through fall—up to five months of non-stop color!
Muskogee is a hybrid cultivar (Lagerstroemia indica × fauriei) prized for its mildew resistance, graceful arching habit, and lush dark green foliage that transitions to brilliant golden-orange in autumn. It's low-maintenance, drought-tolerant once established, and can be pruned into a multi-stemmed shrub or small ornamental tree depending on your space and preference.
Whether you're planting it as a showpiece in your yard or incorporating it into a pollinator garden, Muskogee brings beauty and resilience with every season.

Planting Instructions:
When to Plant:
Plant in early spring or fall for best root establishment. Avoid planting during extreme heat or freezing temperatures.
Where to Plant:
Choose a sunny location that receives at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Muskogee Crape Myrtles thrive in well-draining soil and full sun exposure is essential for prolific blooming.
How to Plant:
- Dig the Hole: Twice as wide as the root ball and just as deep.
- Loosen the Roots: Gently tease apart any compacted roots before placing in the hole.
- Plant: Position the tree so the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil.
- Backfill & Water: Fill in with soil, lightly firm, and water thoroughly.
- Mulch: Apply a 2–3" layer of mulch around the base to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature, keeping mulch away from the trunk.
Watering:
Water deeply 1–2 times per week during the first growing season. Once established, it becomes drought tolerant and will need less frequent watering.
Fertilizing:
Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring before new growth begins.
Pruning:
Prune in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Remove any dead wood and shape as desired.
