Aphidius colemani – Beneficial Wasps for Aphid Control - 4 oz bottle 1K is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Aphidius colemani for Small Aphid Control
Aphidius colemani is a beneficial parasitoid wasp used to control smaller aphid species, including green peach aphids and melon/cotton aphids. Introduce it early, while aphid numbers are low, to help manage developing colonies.
Female wasps lay eggs inside aphids. The larvae develop within their hosts, killing them and leaving golden-brown aphid “mummies” from which new adult wasps emerge.
Target Pests
- Green peach aphid: Myzus persicae
- Melon/cotton aphid: Aphis gossypii
Identify the aphid species before choosing a biological control. Matching the beneficial insect to the pest helps you select the right product for your crop.
Release and Handling
- Begin releases early, before aphid populations become established or when the first small colonies appear.
- Distribute releases throughout the affected crop, using dispersal boxes for bottle material or hanging blister packs according to the supplied instructions.
- Keep the release material dry.
- Follow the supplied product instructions for release rates, placement and repeat applications. Dosage depends on the crop and pest pressure.
