Green Lacewings for Biological Aphid Control
Chrysoperla rufilabris is a green lacewing whose larvae prey on aphids and other soft-bodied pests. Use these beneficial insects in greenhouses, indoor growing spaces, gardens, and orchards as part of a biological pest management program.
The larval stage provides pest control. Adult lacewings are not predators; they need pollen, nectar, or other suitable food to support reproduction and produce the next generation of larvae.
Target Pests
- Many aphid species
- Spider mites
- Many thrips and mealybug species

Release and Handling
Follow the instructions supplied with your selected package. Release rates, timing, and handling depend on the life stage, growing area, and pest pressure; one rate should not be applied across all options.
For larvae supplied in bottles or bags, release the contents on the day received, distributing them over the target plants. Do not cold-store larvae. Address ants before release, since ants can protect aphids from predators.
