Cryptolaemus montrouzieri – Mealybug Destroyer – 500 Count

Mealybug Control with Cryptolaemus montrouzieri

Cryptolaemus montrouzieri, commonly called the mealybug destroyer, is a predatory lady beetle used for biological control of mealybugs. Both adults and larvae feed on these pests, making them useful for targeting mealybug hotspots as part of an integrated pest management program.

Adults and young larvae favor mealybug eggs and young nymphs, while older larvae feed on mealybugs at all stages. This package contains 500 insects in a 4 oz bottle.

Release and Scouting Tips

• Concentrate releases on plants where mealybugs are present, following the supplier’s instructions for release quantities, timing, and environmental conditions.
• Scout regularly after release to track mealybug activity and determine whether additional releases are needed.
• Manage ants around affected plants, since ants can protect mealybugs while feeding on their honeydew.
• Avoid pesticide applications that could harm the beetles, and check compatibility before treating release areas.
• Recognize the beneficial larvae: their white, waxy covering can make them look like large mealybugs.
