Orius insidiosus, commonly known as the minute pirate bug, is a beneficial predatory insect used to manage thrips in greenhouses, indoor gardens, and nurseries. It feeds on both immature and adult thrips, making it a useful addition to an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program.

These predators search flowers and foliage for prey. Winged adults move between plants, while both adults and nymphs feed on pests. Along with thrips, Orius can feed on aphids, spider mites, and other small, soft-bodied prey.
