Beneficial Nematodes for Shore Flies and Other Susceptible Pests

NEMAforce SC contains Steinernema carpocapsae, microscopic beneficial nematodes used for biological pest control in greenhouses, indoor growing facilities, fields, and gardens. These ambush hunters target susceptible insects at the growing media surface.

After entering a suitable host, the nematodes release symbiotic bacteria that kill the insect, then reproduce inside it.

Target Pests

• Shore fly larvae
• Susceptible caterpillars, including cutworms, armyworms, and sod webworms
• Certain beetle larvae, including strawberry root weevil and black vine weevil
• Outdoor flea larvae and pupae

Match the target pest and growing site to the product instructions before choosing an application rate.

Application and Handling

Optimal soil temperature: 57–84°F. Air temperature also matters for this surface-active species.

• For tray applications, irrigate the media first, mix with cool, clean water, and lightly mist the media surface.
• Keep the mixture agitated and the tank out of direct sunlight.
• Use the entire tray immediately after opening.
• Use promptly on arrival or refrigerate trays according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not freeze.
