Custom tailored Tight-Fit film wrap on our slabs ensure better drainage and uniform water movement across the media. Water and plant nutrition are held accessible to the root zone and forced along a straight path through the stonewool to the drainage slit(s). Additionally, we have printed tracking information on every slab to ensure cultivators can check lots for quality and consistency cycle after cycle.

Select Grow Media For Use In Commercial Nurseries

It is common to find propagators moving fresh cuttings into plugs for the initial stage of development. Once rooted plants are transplanted into starter blocks, grow blocks, and then placed on top of grow slabs to extend root zone development and access to water and nutrients. Selecting the correct substrate for your crop depends on many variables such as size, duration, density, and more.

RedRock Slab's User Guide

1. RedRock slabs are ultra-durable and made from premium material, but they should still be handled with care; Always keep mineral wool dry until use.
   
2. Place the slabs in your grow trays and spray down the mineral wool with nutrient solution through the pre-cut squares until saturated. Let them soak without draining for a minimum of 30 minutes.
   
3. When you’re ready for planting, cut drainage slits in the bottom of the slabs to prevent over-watering, then place your plants’ grow blocks directly onto the pre-cut squares.
   
4. As your fertigation system circulates nutrients and water to your plants, RedRock’s specialized wetting agent will deliver it evenly throughout your plants’ root zone.
